GSWC Spring Specialty

The annual Garden State Weimaraner Club Spring Specialty held in conjunction with Plainfield Kennel Club took place last Sunday in Freehold, NJ. It was a very hot and humid day and we did our best to keep the dogs cool and happy. Waiting to go into the ring, Jam looks cool as a cucumber under the shade of the tent with her cool cloth on. She showed well and won the Open Bitch class. Go to Jam's blog to see more of her show shots.
The GSWC did their usual terrific job of organizing the Specialty with lovely trophy items and a delicious luncheon. Of course, not to be left out of any social occasion, Savi came along to play, see old friends, meet new people and provided the entertainment showing off her tricks and well, just being savvy! Everyone loves a puppy. Less than a month and a half and Savi will be old enough to enter shows but the question is...will she be ready? Time will tell...

Pretty in pink!

Have you tried the cooling vest made by Ruffwear? We use them on our Weim and Sagira and they seem to really help them out during the events we attend in the summer. :)

Thanks! I actually have cool coats for the dogs that cover most of their body and are perfect for shows where we need to take them on and off. She was wearing her cool coat but I took it off and put the cooling cloth on her as we were getting ready to go right in the ring. The Ruffwear vests look neat but wouldn't necessarily be good for showing as we like to wet the dogs down but for other events...hmmm, something else to buy for the dogs who have everything, lol
