New NAJ Title for Trixie!

Trixie completed her Novice Agility Jumpers (NAJ) title with a 3rd place, less than 10 weeks after whelping her litter of 7 puppies! Trixie was on fire and ran the jumpers with weaves course in 24 seconds, a full 12 seconds under the course time. To earn this title, a dog must get 3 qualifying legs. Trixie earned her title with placements at all-breed trials for every leg, 2- 2nd place ribbons and a 3rd place ribbon.
Now, we will compete at the next level in both Open Standard and Open Jumpers. May we continue to run clean and run fast!

Happy Birthday to our Trixie-Parker Pups!

It is hard to believe that our Trixie-Parker pups turn one year old on May 28th.
I am so proud of these dogs and blessed to have such wonderful owners who have given them great homes and accomplished amazing things in such a short time.
Four of the six pups live in the NY/NJ area and met last Sunday at the Plainfield KC Show. From left to right: Veronika and Ranger, Jam and me, Michele and Mia, and Patrick filling in for Monte's owners.
Sky lives in North Carolina and Marshall lives in Kansas.
Highlights of what this talented litter has done over the past year:
  • Three are pointed: Sky, Marshall and Ranger
  • Ranger is Major pointed with a Specialty win on his show debut from the 9-12 month class
  • Marshall went Reserve Winners Dog to a major at his first show at 6 months of age
  • Jam won Best Puppy in Match at the Morris Essex Kennel Club Match at 15 weeks of age
  • Sky completed her Junior Hunter title at 9 months of age and also has her NSD
  • Four completed their AKC STAR Puppy Certifications: Jam, Mia, Monty and Ranger
  • Jam has an active modeling/acting career and has done work for Ralph Lauren and Macy's
  • All of these pups are currently in training or competing in the following areas: conformation, obedience, agility, tracking and hunt tests.

Happy Birthday to our Trixie-Parker litter!!!

Ranger's Big Specialty Major Win

Ranger, Grayhart's Midnight Lightning, made his show debut today with a bang, going Winner's Dog and Best of Winners, from the 9-12 month class, for a 4-point major at the Garden State Weimaraner Club Specialty at Plainfield Kennel Club. Ranger is out of our Trixie/Parker breeding and was expertly handled by Parker's breeder and owner, Steve Lane. Parker, CH Hibourne's It's All About Me, went Best of Opposite. It was an exciting day watching Ranger win and then to see him and his daddy in the ring together.

Congratulations to Steve and Parker!!!

A huge thanks to Ranger's owners, Veronika and Patrick for all the hard work they have put into training and conditioning Ranger. We are very proud of you!

T-Z Pups Day 56 Double the Fun

Good girl Maggie for retrieving the octopus!
This has been a fairly relaxing week here at Grayhart, only having two pups to care for. They have a blast playing together and tire each other out. Getting to spend time in the kitchen with all the big dog toys is one of their favorite activities, especially if it includes playtime with Jam. It is also important to separate the pups, so I leave one home while the other goes on car rides in a crate while we do errands and visit friends. Jersey even crashed a puppy kindergarten class and had fun running through a competition size agility tunnel! She was so fast that she beat the girl playing with her, who then curved the tunnel, a more advanced skill, but Jersey didn't even notice and continued marveling us with her plans to be an agility star!
