Yippee!

This was our cool picture of the day from our field training session on Monday. Katie, Hibourne's Foolish Pleasure, Jam's half sister (Mariah/Parker), owned/bred by Bonnie and Steve Lane, is at the beginning stages of her exposure to birds but boy does she have natural ability and thinks the birds are something to jump about!

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppies

We always knew our puppies were stars but now it's official!
On March 14th, eight Weim pups, all out of Parker, CH Hibourne It's All About Me, completed their American Kennel Club S.T.A.R. Puppy Certification. I believe this is the largest group of Weim pups ever to earn this award on the same day. Four of the pups were out of Trixie, CH GraytSky's I'm Not Really a Waitress, CD, RN, NA, V, bred by Grayhart Weimaraners and the other four were bred by Hibourne Weimaraners, out of Mariah, CH Hibourne's They Call the Wind, NRD,NSD,V.

A Family Affair

We had a great time hanging out with Daddy Parker, below, and half sister Katie, as well the other Hibourne Weimaraners at a hunt test on Long Island last weekend.
Happy boy Parker romping down the trail.
Handsome Parker
Katie, in the green collar, and Jam loved chasing after each other and playing like only puppies know how to do.
It was quite entertaining watching the girls take turns in their game of tag.
Take that
Catch me if you can!

Garden State Weimaraner Club Specialty Show

The GSWC Independent Specialty Show, Obedience and Rally trial was the perfect opportunity for a mini-reunion and stacking practice for the Parker puppies. The stormy weather cleared just in time for the show and the day turned out to be perfect for showing and spending time catching up with friends. As usual, my club put on a delicious lunch buffet, fabulous raffle and offered lovely trophies.

The exhibits were lovely to watch and Marge, the top Weim and #1 Sporting Dog in the country, won Best of Breed. We were thrilled when Parker went Best of Opposite, owner/breeder handled by Steve! Congratulations!

That's me stacking littermate Monty.

This beautiful girl is Katie, half sister to Jam, sired by Parker and out of Mom Mariah, all owned and bred by Steve and Bonnie Lane of Hibourne. Katie is two weeks older than Jam.

Jam loved meeting all the new people and couldn't believe all the gray dogs. She was beyond excited. Her enthusiasm, confidence, playfulness and high energy level impressed many and so I've nicknamed her the Energizer bunny.

Jam's First Show....just a family visit!

Is Jam in jail? No, she is just hanging out in the exercise pen visiting family at the Newton Kennel Club show this past Friday. Too young to be entered, it was a wonderful opportunity to visit with good friends, socialize Jam with other Weims and people plus acclimate her to the sights, sounds and smells of a real dog show.

Jam was quite comfortable relaxing and playing in the expens set up between our friends' motorhomes. See the family resemblance?

We saw Jam's daddy, Parker, who was entered, and he was able to meet and play with Jam.

Friday was a warm up for this handsome, young dog, who looked great in the ring and on the following day, not only won Best of Breed over the #1 Weimaraner dog in the country, but WON the Sporting Group!

A family photo of Jam, Katie, Jam's half sister, and daddy to both, Parker.

Jam and Katie had a blast chasing each other and wrestling.

Katie, Parker's daughter out of CH mom, Mariah, is a rising star herself. She won the Sporting Group at the Newton KC Match Show! She is definately following in the pawprints of success of her mother and father. And best of all, Katie loves to climb the expen for kisses and affection. This girl is two weeks older than Jam.

Giving us the paw :)

Ooooh that feels wonderful!

Not only did we see Jam's daddy, Parker, but both her grandma's and even her great grandma, all part of the GraytSky and Hibourne family.

and the morning got better when Ranger, Jam's littermate showed up to play. Those pictures will be posted another day.

Jam was quite exhausted from her extremely busy morning and was barely back in her crate before falling asleep for the ride home. A good Weim is a tired Weim.
