Jam rocks the agility ring at SOJAC!

Jam, CH Grayhart's Purple Haze, CD, JH, AX, AXJ, SD, VX
Last weekend, Jam returned to the agility ring for the first time in a year and four months after having a litter of seven puppies. At the SOJAC Agility Trial at Dream Park in New Jersey, Jam did an awesome job competing in Masters Standard and Master Jumpers with Weaves.  Our first run was a little wobbly as I was late on a command and didn't give her enough support but after that run, we got it together and Q'd.  Jam nailed her weaves 4 out of 4 runs. On Saturday, she earned an MX leg with 15 MACH points (meaning she was 15 seconds under the official course time) and on Sunday also earned an MXJ leg with 2 MACH points!  She almost qualified in standard on Sunday but fell off the dogwalk, which was the second to last obstacle and was a scary few minutes but fortunately, she was fine and went on to qualify in jumpers later that day.  You can see Jam's run from the weekend.

Savi also had a great weekend, which is in the previous blog post, qualifying in 3 out of 4 runs, all with 1st places and earned her Novice Standard title.  I am super proud of my girls and cannot wait to run them in the next agility trial.  The best part is the teamwork with my dogs and fun with friends, cheering each other on.

New AX title for Jam & another Mother-Daughter Q!

Jam
We ended our agility weekend on a gray-t note.  Both Trixie and Jam qualified in Excellent Standard at the Skyline Agility Club trial.  Jam earned her AX title (Agility Excellent) with a 3rd place! She is now, CH Grayhart's Purple Haze, CD, JH, AX, OAJ, SD, VX!
Trixie
Trixie earned her 2nd MX or Master Excellent leg with 8 MACH points.  She now has a total of 13 MACH points.  Both girls ran beautifully and if not for handler error, would have also qualified in Excellent Jumpers with Weaves.

The lovely photos of Jam and Trixie were taken by Chris Kwiatek, our good friend, who came to the trial yesterday with his wife, KellyAnn, to watch our runs and learn about agility.  It was very cold, 29 degrees outside and the trial was run in an unheated, indoor riding arena.  The girls kept warm in their Chillydogs coats.

Trixie's 1st MX leg!!!

Trixie made her debut in Exc B Std at today's Skyline Agility Club trial and qualified for her 1st MX or Master Agility standard leg!  Her time was under the standard course time and she also earned 5 MACH points!  To complete an MX titles, the dog needs to earn 10 qualifying legs. You can see the AKC agility rules here, which also explain the different AKC agility titles.  We have been super busy with Jam's pups, work, vacations and that big storm, Hurricane Sandy, which knocked our power out for 17 days, so poor Trixie has not been to an agility trial since July in North Carolina where she won Highest Scoring Weimaraner with her double Q at the Tarheel Weimaraner Club Agility trial.  We also have not been training and I am super proud of how much she has retained.

We also ran in Exc A JWW (Jumpers with Weaves) as the first run of the day.  No qualifying score due to a handler error causing a refusal and missed weaves.  I was thrilled with how much drive and enthusiasm she has and loved seeing her fly over the jumps.
