Puppies Day 27 Starring Black Boy

While his littermates took an afternoon nap, black boy enjoyed some personal attention and had the opportunity to play with some new toys without having to share.

Better to bite the toy than my finger!

The jingling bells did not disturb sleeping beauties pink girl and orange boy.

After a tiring play session, black boy climbed up into my lap for a snooze.

Puppies Day 25 & the Guest Photographer

What a nice surprise to receive these pictures via email. Photo credit goes to Veronika who truly captured the essence of her subjects. It was a totally enjoyable experience sharing our babies with her and Patrick.

Here we have green boy, with pink and orange girls.
What a neat pose of orange girl and Trixie! Like mother, like daughter...
Beautiful blue eyes
Can't I get some sleep around here...

Puppies Day 25 - Playtime on a Rainy Day

The torrential rains did not put a damper on our Sunday. We had a lovely visit with Veronika and Patrick, who will be taking home one of our bundles of gray joy...possibly a future agility star!

The puppies are getting more and more active each day and put on quite a show. I would even describe their interactions as rowdy, with lots of mouthing, pawing and the occasional growl. Plus, the puppies teeth are coming in, sharp little needles, ouch!

Taking a moment to chill and practice their downs!

Ooooh, just a little to the left, ahhh....

Trixie stopped by for lunch and the pups gave her an enthusiastic greeting and impatiently waited for the milk bar to open for service. Trixie still thinks the donut bed was put here for her personal comfort!

Puppies Day 23 - The Pyramid

Yesterday, a very special present arrived for the puppies - the Pyramid toy. A good friend had told me that this was a "must have" toy for them. It is interactive, colorful, and always a puppy favorite. Finding this silly thing drove me crazy and finally, after many Google searches, I found it on Amazon and impatiently waited for its arrival... Yes, I admit that am obsessed with my puppies and want to do everything possible to ensure that they are healthy and develop physically and mentally to reach their fullest potential.

This toy was made for purple girl. As you can see, she laid her claim to this toy and entertained us with her biting it, pawing and then investigating the inside and crawling into it for a cozy nap!

Pink girl was very curious, first sniffing it, trying to eat it and then gave us the paw, before moving on to the next item on her agenda!

Orange girl lounging on her pink pig.

Green boy sniffing a water bottle. Toys do not need to be expensive nor hard to find, they just need to be safe. Each pup finds different toys more stimulating than others and the constant introduction of new toys enhances their curiousity and done properly, reduces fear of new sights and noises.

Black boy and purple girl stalking the colorful ball. This rubbery ball, made out of woven tubes, is the perfect size for the pups to suck/bite and move around.

Puppies Day 21 - New Bed and Goldie-Weim

The puppies received a comfy, new donut bed today. However, I was remiss in not telling Trixie that the bed was for the puppies only. Trixie, aka Goldielox, tried to squeeze herself into the bed and nurse the puppies; Trix realized it was a futile effort and stretched out for all to nurse.

Trixie has a reputation for trying out every dog bed, mat and cot in obedience class. There is a reason she's nicknamed the Princess...I wonder if these traits are genetic?

Hurray! The pups are three weeks old today!

The puppies are 21 days old today! They can finally hear, see, walk and talk.

Join us for a virtual visit to our whelping box. A three-plus minute video to celebrate three weeks. This video was filmed this morning after they woke up from a nap. Sit back, relax and imagine the puppy breath...

Puppies Day 20 - New Collars and a Manicure!

The puppies look stunning in their new, big dog collars. They also received a manicure/pedicure to look extra spiffy. The puppies have been getting spa service nail care twice a week since they were three days old.
