Being a mom is a never ending job...and if you are curious as to what the black cord is, it is a thermometer with a probe to measure the temperature in the whelping box. The puppies cannot regulate their own body temperature therefore, it is critical that we keep the whelping box warm so the pups do not overheat nor get chilled.
